Default TPIS Header Install Help

I bought a set of TPIS headers and was wondering if there was a sticky somewhere that has instructions on how to install them on a 2000 coupe. I really dont wanna have to pay someone to do the install if i can do it myself.

I dunno about a sticky or write up but we did mine in the driveway....the passenger side went in easy you need a little help on the driver side...its just a matter of unbolting stuff like coil packs and dipstick tube.

how long did it take to install? how high up does the car need to be? also i noticed the drivers side deletes the air tube. so do i take that tube out all together? and if so how much of a pita is that?

I installed Kooks headers on my C5 by myself, and it was a pita. I had car up on jackstands around 18-20 inches. Had to unbolt starter, plugs, alternator, oil filter, engine mounts, etc.. If I had to do it again, I'm sure it would go much easier though. Learning curb.

You may want to be sure those headers are the ones you want/need if they do not have airtube connectors. That will most likely affect your emissions, etc.. Check link below for installation directions. Mike

i was told by the person i bought the headers from that i do not need the air tube on the drivers side if i dont have emmisions testing where i am so i can just delete or remove that tube.so do i need that tube for emissions or will deleting that tube make my car run like crap?

If you do not hook up airtubes you will get a trouble code from cars' computer. This can be programmed out by a tuner. If Va. has an emmisions inspection, it may be a problem. I personally bought headers without airtube connections, and sent them back to Kooks and they added them on for me. These headers were new never installed though. Even though Florida does not have inspections, I wanted car to maintain all of its emmision systems in case I sell it someday to a person from another state. Headers without airtube connections are considered "race/offroad headers".

i am not concerned with passing emmisions but just want to make sure i can use these headers without the air tube connections on my car without any problems. I am also planning a head cam install and it will get tuned.

In that case you shold be ok, provided you get tuner to turn off "air" system.

so the question remains, do i take off all of the air tubing associated with the stock exhaust that i will no longer be needing with these headers or do i leave it on? and how much of a pita is that? lol

Some people completely remove air system, and others leave parts in place. I have seen little "blockoff plates" for sale on that big auction site. If you know which tuner you will be using, I would seek their advice. You may want to check here on the "scan and tune" forum for for more info.

Not a hard but just tedious job, i have SW LT which are similer to TPIS except TPis has 2.75" collectors and whereas mine is a 3" collector.
Anyway drivers side headers goes from bottom,
Pass side header goes from top as u can see in pic.
Driver side is super easy may be 5-10 min's with no fight.
Pass side is a biatch, it will hit starter, but do not completely remove starter just loosen bolts, also u need to remove Valve cover on Pass side,
Dont have to remove VC on driver side.

Click one of my pic and u get to see couple more pics how i installed.
I live in condo and i did this install in undergoround parking.
GL.
