I cleared the code and drove the car for a few and it did not come back. i did the cleaning but the car has been sitting due to all the rain we have been getting. I hope to have it out this week to see if that fixed it.
it is? I get 2 different codes I forget which one is which. But either way I think i have to replace both of them so I am starting on the easier one first.
ok so i changed the driver side out and got a check engine light this morning on the way to work. Have not had time to check the code but I have a feeling its the passenger side one.
So is there any good write-ups on how to gain access to replace that one.
I see posts from people saying it s a pain and hard to get to etc. But how did they accomplish it? wrench sizes and what did you take off to get to it etc.
I may see if a local mechanic i use can do it for me. I am sure the dlr will be way to much $$$
Code was 0410..some sort of airpump code according to the web. But it refers to water in the airpump in cold climates..I'm in sfl
Thoughts on what to check..
Could this be the passenger side valve
Not sure where the water in the pump conclusion is being drawn from. The P1416 is consistent with the passenger check valve(already discussed). There is no need to guess on the codes.
Typically, the P410 sets if both banks do not respond during the test, not just one. If both check valves were bad, and you replaced the drivers side, then the P410 should clear, and the P1416 will remain. Can you hear the AIR pump running when the car is started initially?

Are you reading the posts in this thread, particularly #17?
So again. Is the AIR pump running on start up? Do you have an existing (current) P410 that will not clear? Do you still have a P1416? Are you checking the codes through the DIC, and clearing per the instructions I posted?

Sorry my update freaked out I was posting from my Droid. not my computer.
Dlr said the water thing was for a 2002 Camaro issue.
I was driving like 10 miles when it came on with the p0410 code. No more p1416 code. (at this time)
I cleared the code yesterday on the way home from work and it did not come back. I am not driving the car today but I will check it in the next day or so.
