Default Problem Lowering C5

I am having a problem getting the front 10MM ride height bolt to turn on my '02 Z06. I jacked the car up on jackstands and took pressure off the spring with a floor jack, but the bolts will not turn counterclockwise. Any suggestions??

Terry

Dude, this seems to be the problem of the month. There are several threads about this and the general conscensus is to soak the bolt in PB Blaster or WD40 for a day or two and wrench the heck out of it. Ensure you are using a six point socket as the bolt will strip super easy. Also, taking the pressure off of the bushing by lifting the spring with your jack will also aid in this process. Use a piece of wood on the jack to avoid damaging the spring.

Good luck
Chris

take your jack and a piece of wood and jack up the leaf spring a little just to take the pressure off of the bolt. After letting it soak for a little bit in wd-40, the bolt will turn easily. Trust me, I just did mine.
