Default SIR Light and B0022 Error Code

Well I replaced my steering wheel and ran into two small issues. Got everything reassembled and took the car for a test drive. Despite my best efforts, I failed to consider that the splines in my new wheel would be slightly different and effect alignment so it's slightly off. A little bit of a pain as I will have to disconnect my airbag again and remove wheel to adjust clocking a couple of splines to the right . The second issue and what I need help with is that the airbag light is staying illuminated. I checked my codes and throwing out all the historical ones, I get the B0022 Driver Loop Circuit. Is this telling me that I did not one of the connections seated properly or is it something worse? Also, while checking the diagnostic codes, I hit reset several times to clear the historical codes and they would not reset. What am I doing wrong?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

Sounds like the Air Bag connector isn't pluged in good. From the '02 Service manual:

Conditions for Setting the DTC
DTC B0022 will set when the steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is less than 1.3 ohms for 300 milliseconds.
DTC B0024 will set when one of the following conditions occur:
Steering wheel module high circuits is more than 6 volts for 300 milliseconds.
Steering wheel module high circuit is less than 2 volts and steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is less than 6 ohms for 300 milliseconds.
DTC B0026 will set when one of the following conditions occurs:
Steering wheel module high circuit is less than 2 volts and the steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is more than 4.8 ohms for 500 milliseconds.
Steering wheel module deployment loop resistance is more than 6 ohms for 300 milliseconds.

Thanks. My suspicion- though I was extremely cautious while doing this, I was not sure how the spring wire clicked in. I will check all three connections (2004) in the morning. My wheel has to come back off and move 1 or 2 splines to be dead center.

Anyone know how critical the steering wheel nut is? I bought a new one but it seems crazy to have to throw it away when it's been used for a day though it was threaded down and torqued to spec...

Voila!
Got issues resolved. Not positive but the SIR wire may not have been seated correctly. Anyway wheel is straight, light is off and life is good!

Thanks for the feedback
