Default C5 Exhaust Question

I was wondering what kind of performance gains can i expect if i were to open up my c5 stock exhaust cans and remove the baffles or what ever is inside them and then weld them back together, has anyone out there ever tried this or heard of anyone trying this please advise.. thanks...

ive never seen anyone do this i dont think you would see much performance gains. its up to you. if looking for a better sound and performance just run a Cut out set up. that would be the way to go. instead of spending 1000$ on a exhaust system

I'm still new to vette ownership so dont take my word as gospel I remember motor trend put a corsa system on a C5 and it only gained like 4 horsepower over stock.

I think changing the rear section out is more for sound than horsepower.

It depends. Put a pressure gauge on a couple places in your exhaust system. If you have a relatively large pressure drop across the mufflers, opening them up would help your exhaust flow (and engine VE). If most of the pressure drop is before the mufflers, then the muffler work probably wouldn't be very value added. Only a gauge or a timeslip will tell you.
