is there a DIY out there? if i dont have to take off the hub i dont want to. can i just drill a clearance hole in the plate behind the studs and pound them out?
FYI, im running a spacer and i want longer ARP wheel studs. lowered the car this weekend and i have 11" CCW wheels in the back and the spring hits the wheel.
You can drill a hole in the plate but it will have to be very close to the parking brake mounting point. Be careful when drilling so you don't screw up the parking brake. I have a hole in the passenger side plate and there isn't much meat between it and the hole for the parking brake.

people are getting scared and opting not to drill the hole because they cant seem to find a spot to drill. this scares me a little. anyone have pics of it drilled?
the dealership wants $600 to replace all the rear studs. F that!!!

The dealership mechanic is the one who drilled the hole. He suggested doing that instead of tearing the whole assembly apart to replace one stud. All he needed was my permission to do a non-standard procedure. Cut quite a bit off the repair bill.
Follow the directions in the LG post in that other forum.
