Default Service Traction Control/ABS Warning???

That message just popped up this morning on the way to work. Any ideas on what might be the cause or thing to look for? When I get home I'll have the time to try bleeding the brakes and looking for leaks etc. If anyone had the same message what did you look for.

Thanks

Tom

Post any diagnosis codes and someone will help you.

The "diagnostic display" mode is entered with the following procedure:

Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine
Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages
Press and hold "options"
While holding "options", press "fuel" four times within a 10-second period
When first engaged the on-board diagnostics go into an "automatic" mode which shows all parameters: PCM-TCS-RTD-BCM-IPC-radio-HVAC-LDCM-RDCM-SCM-RFA. If there are no problems, you will see "no more codes" on the ICP display. The computer will show two kinds of codes, "current" and "history," designated "C" or "H". A current code indicates a malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a past problem. When the screen displays "manual diagnostics," select the desired module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Press "gages" to go forward or "fuel" to go back. To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M".

I get it frequently and sometimes service active handling thrown in as well. I can usually reset and they will be gone for awhile. I'd say I get them about 2x a week as a daily driver. Mine appears to be a bad ground since it happens when I hit bumps; been trying to track it down for some time.

Yours could be as simple as the ABS sensor (any of them) that have corrosion in the connectors. May want to pull all four; use some dielectric grease and reseat.

Same problem here. I followed diagnosis procedures as advised and got these codes:
TCS C1226H
IPC U1255H and U1160H
Can you explain what these mean?
Thanks

The problem hasn't got anything to do with the base brake system so bleeding and looking for leaks is a fruitless effort in trying to resolve this issue. Get the codes as mentioned before.

C1226 is the right front sensor. Check the female connectors each end of the wheel harness.

In the picture the left is a new connector the right is a worn one.
