Default Need power, Help with cam & Head question

Its been a while since I've posted and lately been thinking of some upgrades for my 98 C5 . I knew a guy with a LS1 T/A that ran real good he said he'd changed to the 5.3 truck heads, cam swap, some tune work and gears in the rear. Well thats what he said he had done, no way for me to know for sure. Does this sound rite? All I know is that the car ran like a bat out of hell. I just ran into a set of 5.3 heads and was wondering if it was worth it? Also thinking about a cam swap. Can anyone tell me what would be a good cam to change to and will I need bigger injectors or springs? I should have done this when I changed out my damper but I didn't.

There are just so many directions you can go with this. You can do a search here for heads and cam posts. You can go to the websites of some of the different tuners here to see what they have as far as a package for a head/cam upgrade. Best bet might be to find a tuner in your area that alot of local forum members recommend. Then go over there, and have a clear idea of how much money you can spend, and what kind of HP you are looking for, with the kind of driving you do, ie: track, drag strip, street only, or any combination of these. At least then, the tuner can give you some ideas right away, and give you some things to go home, and think about before making any choice.

before you decide on any part...you need to have a end goal. and what results you want and what you want to do with the car. I have a feeling you want a all around daily driver that is just "faster"

I would just suggest Patriot stage 2 or 3 heads (243 casting) a medium cam, and a FAST intake. can get all for about 2500-2800 bucks. You will make around 400-420 rwhp and will feel great and drive wonderful
