2001 automatic with a 2.73 vs the 3.15

what will I notice if anything in regular street driving

Should I get one or the other

What is the preference among c5 owners

good or bad - pros and cons

There are countless threads on this. General consensus though was that going to 3:15s isn't really worth it. The 3:42s will really pick up and pull hard "off the line". You may see a little less mileage though. You have to reprogram for either one.

I had a 2000 coupe A4. Cost was $500 to r/r the rear end (plus the cost of the rear pumpkin.. I think I paid about $500 for that off the forum). Made a HUGE difference in SOTP.

Go with the 3:42's at least. It would be a good time to get a convertor installed also...something like a SS3200.

3:42 is good, but not more than a 3:73. I just posted this to someone else, GO TO ECS SITE!!!!!! They have a chart you can compair speed vs rpm.
