I have a terrible noise coming from the passenger side speaker(s). It sounds like the audio is being played through a bass kazoo. Almost a rattling, but sounds electronic, not mechanical. Far worse than the rattling "bose" emblem issue. Somewhat intermittent, although recently it is almost always present. AM,FM, and CD are same.
I have never heard of this before. Not sure if I need a new speaker or new radio. Is anybody out there familiar with this, that can point in the right direction to identify the root problem ?
Is it the front or rear speakers? The front speakers have an amp built in with the speaker, and the rear speakers are just a speaker. One of two things wrong. You either have a blown speaker or the amp for that channel has blown. If it is the front speaker, you will need to find another amp/speaker unit or put in a new aftermarket head unit and speaker system. If it is the rear speaker, you can find aftermarket speakers that will fit there, just be sure they are not very deep, not a lot of room back there. Post this in the audio section for more help.
Sounds like its coming from the front speaker. When I turn the fade to the rears, its better, but I can still hear it, and it sure sounds like its coming from the front speaker.
Seems like I need a new amp/speaker. Thanks for the help.
You may be picking up interference through your system. During any speaker installation with an amp included they tell you to run the speaker wire and the power wire on opposite sides of the vehicle. This is due to the fact that the speaker wire will pick up signal from the power running next to it and you will get an electronic buzz coming from the speaker. You may want to check to see if your speaker wire insulation has been damaged, either cut or frayed. I think that you maybe having an issue with damaged speaker wire close to the power for the windows or something along those lines. Maybe someone else can chime in with any power sources that run close to the speaker wire.
