Default Failed EBCM

Hi All, I have a 2001 C5 with 30,000miles there are a few codes that come up 1 of them is C1214 (EBCM) what does this mean?
Also my windshield wipers have a mind of their own, I replaced wiper motor last year and again they go on for no apparent reason and wont shut off, quite embarrassing on a sunny day. Any info would be greatly appreciated I found this site and I think its great this is my first time here.

What are the other codes? Please post them. The EBCM problem could be minor or major ($) depending on what codes are associated it. Wiper problem is not uncommon but a new motor usually is the fix. You have rubber udders on the driver side firewall (on my 99) that drain the wiper motor area. Make sure these are not clogged. You can just pull them out and clean them but if clogged the damage may have already been done. The motor does not like to sit in water.

1214 is the classic relay fialure inside the module I think. Check w/ www.absfixer.com.

I am so sorry it took so long but life's been nuts. thank you my windshield wipers never worked better. as for the codes I bought it to the shop he put it on computer & nothing comes up but when I start her, ABS & Traction Icons are on. and it says service traction- service abs - service active handling. tech told me to go really fast & push reset... now that sounds foolish to me. thanks again

Use the DIC to read your codes, most GENERIC OBD readers will NOT read most of the computer codes-only the generic engine ones (nothing other than engine only codes).. The DIC and Generic OBD readers will give you a good reading about the entire car when used together(the DIC does not get everything either).

I use a PC scanner sometimes (AutoEnginuity) which give it all to me as well as allowing be to graph things like O2's and command things to operate.

Use the DIC to check the codes and do not listen to what this obvious Dud of a tech told you. With C1214 you can have a reasonably low cost fix if all that is bad is the relay in the EBCM. ABSFixer repairs those parts. However, the diagnostic also calls for measuring the pump motor circuits in the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve to ground. If any of these readings read less than overlimit or infinity then the BPMV has to be replaced in addition to repairing/replacing the EBCM. There is no way to get the BPMV repaired at this time.

How good are you at using tools and a digital multimeter? If you can't do this yourself you need to find a mechanic with a brain to work on your car. There is a diagnostic procedure for troubleshooting this problem and isn't all that hard to follow but I wouldn't trust the guy who did the check for you anywhere near my car.

Thanks kinda figured my tech was out of his mind. I ran DIC codes are:
28TCS: C1214 HC
AO-LDCM : 6 codes all end in H ( History)???
AI-RDCM : 6 codes all end in H
99 HVAC: B0361 HC
my Icons are lit: Traction - ABS
When started: Service ABS, Traction Control & Active handling
How do I reset so it goes away?
Thanks Again
Theresa

You can clear them but the 1214 will most likely return. www.absfixer.com can repair your EBCM to fix it permanently.

If your EBCM requires repair, be aware that "absfixer" is not the only game in town. Don't know the name of the other well-known repair guy (maybe another Forum member can help with his name) but he is on eBay and does the repair for much less $ than absfixer. I've heard nothing negative about his work but have not used him myself
