I just got back from the GM dealership and had the steering lock recall done on the car. Whats happening now is my power windows will not work, however if i shut off the car and wait an hour or so it will work. The other thing is when i pulled into my driveway and shut down the car i heard a clicking sound. When i got out of the car i saw that my right turn signal was on. I got back in the car and the indicator light was not active. I turned over the ignition and turned it off again the the indicator shut off. These wierd thing have been happening since i got the recall done. Can anyone give me some advise on theses issues.
Sounds like the iginition switch is dying but if having this issue immediately right after the having the recall done, its probable that they left something partially connected or whatever. If it happened instantly after them working on it, take it back.
Hi there,
I had the exact same problem with the windows on my 99. After about 2 weeks of cleaning every ground and connector conection I happened across the BCM connection. After playing around with the connection the windows would work. I actually took out the BCM and discovered the the circuit board was corroded - after cleaning it has worked like a charm. Hope this helps.
