I have a K & N intake on my 2004. I heard you can get more air into it by taking off the plastic panel covering the radiator. Is this a good idea or no? I have bought the z06 front air inlets but I still hear you can get more air in there by doing this to that panel. Please let me know!!!

Yes, you'll get more air but you'll also get less air to the radiator and more dirt in the engine compartment.

Is your radiator shroud not cut with the K&N brackets installed so that there is a 1" by 10" opening in the shroud now?

If it's not cut with brackets installed you should contact K&N and get the proper brackets to make the cut. Also if you really think you need more fresh airflow...just install the z06 grilles.

That's a no no. That plastic panel is the radiator shroud. It serves a very important function. It helps along with the spoiler that hangs down in the front of the car (the thing that always scrapes when you go over a speed bump) direct the air across the radiator to cool your engine. If you were to remove this your coolant temps for you engine would rise to undesirable temperatures.

I have the z06 grills. How big of an opening do I cut?
