Default Horn Automatic It blows by itself!!!!!

My horn occasionally won't blow when I press on the steering wheel.
Usually works if you press hard several times in multiple places.
Today it wouldn't blow so I pressed hard MAYBE TOO HARD and it finally sounded. Then a few hundred feet further down the road started blowing ALL BY ITSELF!!!
Other drivers looked at me not because I had a flashy silver convertable but because the horn wouldn't STOP BLOWING.
I banged the steering wheel center severaql times and it stopped blowing. About 2 blocks further it started sounding again. Continued to hit the center and got it to stop. This went on for 10 minutes and several miles. It seemed like something under the cover was bent and continued to short out at will. Temp outside was 95 degrees. Finally I parked in a shopping center parking lot and the horn SEEMED to have regained its original configuration. Didn't seem to be sensitive st the lower left as it was when I was driving.

Has anyone else been in my predicament?

What do I have to do to remove the cover if I have to straighten out the horn contacts?

You will probably have to pull the cover and check the horn connection-read the manual first because the air bag is in there and you don't want it going off in your face.
