Default Anyone got a MAF??

Well, I am still trying to track down the evasive KR in my 01. I would like to swap back to a MAF that still has the screen. Does anyone have one for an 01 or 02 that they would be willing to sell, trade or loan?

I really don't want to buy a new one if it doesn't make any difference.

K/R comes from a lean mixture. Get a MAFT and Dial in some richness. You'll be glad you did! Otherwise there is nothing gained by going back to stock.

need to look at ltft's O2's are only for WOT. Are you running autotap?

KR can come from a number of things. MAFTs on 01+ are a pain given the different wiring configuration. Plus nobody has said the frequency response from the large bore MAFs are (a) the same or (b) that the mapping in the PCM is roughly the same.

Not particularly. Some might even call it rich. The higher the voltage the richer you are. Rather than guess at voltages though, you can see what your air fuel ratio is/was from your dyno results of a couple of weeks ago.

The car didn't do it before??

I think we are now square on the headwork- And yes, I still feel like Chris Farley, "Stupid!, Stupid!!!"

Anyway, the Dyno was showing way rich down near 11:1. But we had a valve that wasn't seating and a broken rocker during that pull.

I ran the tank way down and filled up with Chevron 93 (after driving to Garland to find Speedtek was out of 100 Unleaded). I usually buy Exxon 93. On the way home, I didn't see any KR in a few WOT blasts on the Chevron.

I'm heading to Hallsville tomorrow for a few runs down the 1320. I might try some 100 if they have any. We'll see if the knock is real or false.

Here are the chronicles...

7/2001: Dyno Day: No knock, 328/343

12/25/01: Blow Shift, Dealer Attempts to fix

1/19/02: Supposedly fixed valvetrain, Donaldson, No Screen, Z06 Exhaust, 326/343 Erratic Curve, Rich, Plenty-o-KR between 5000-6000 RPM

1/26/02: Swap plugs to TR55s, KR up 3.1 deg in same RPM range

2/6/02: Dealer finds bent valve and broken rocker, replaces both, downloads software updates for KR reduction

2/7/02: KR better, still see 3 deg in 1 out of 4 runs.

2/10/02: Switch to Chevron Gas, engine pulls strong with 0 KR (not enough runs to conclude a change)
