I just installed a Sparco steering wheel and the Sparco hub adapter (for the Chevy spline). The spline matched up to the steering shaft OK, but when I torqued down the steering wheel nut (30 ft/lbs), the steering wheel is locked up solid. Has anyone run into this before or used the Sparco hub adapter in their C5? Help!
I added a spacer (1/4" long I think) before the adapter and all was well. Careful not to make the spacer to long, since it takes away spline bite. I used 3/4" copper water pipe for the spacer.
You can also cut/grind the little lip off the plastic column cover and the aadapter will go back and have clearance. I ended up doing that when I had my column apart for another reason.

Thanks for the info.
I was under the impression that the adapter worked on the C5 with no mods. I guess not. I don't look forward to pulling the adapter & of course the bolts needed for my puller to yank this adapter are a fine metric pitch that I don't have and neither does Home Depot or Lowes.
4DRUSH ~Are you saying it is the contact with the plastic surround that is freezing it up or is it more than just that?
Also, anyone out there have any expierience with the Momo adapter? I may just use that if it works without spacers (and will fit the 6-bolt pattern of the Sparco wheel).
