Shifter question C6 vs MGW
Anyone with experience with the C6 shifter vs the MGW shifter in a C5. I want to replace the stock shifter on my 2000 C5 coupe M6 and was wondering if the C6 has as short a throw as the MGW and which shifter had a smoother feel and more positive gate engagement.

MGW makes a quality product, I have installed many and from a mechanical stand point it is a great piece of engineering. I like a bit softer yet short shifter closer to the feel of my S4's so I went C6Z.

The MGW will have much shorter throws than the C6Z shifter, but the C6Z is a really good upgrade from the factory shifter. Feels just like my stock C5Z shifter, but it has a shorter height, and shorter throws.

I've driven both and I felt the C6Z shifter had a stock feel with maybe a little shorter throw. The MGW was a whole different animal. It was like thinking it into gear. Much shorter throws and very positive engagement. For me the MGW made the car much more fun to drive.
