2000 vette stock. bought a blackwing flo pac and am wondering if putting the 1000 cfm air flow housing is a good idea. On sale for $49 or Jegs has one for $25. Plastic ends that bolt on to the facory maf.
Please let me know if you have had experience and the results attained.
thanks.
Mine wasn't an empty reply. That just means lurking and watching what people say. And it tags the thread to get it easier later by checking "My recent topics."
I think it could make a difference and say yes. The stock MAF housing is quite constricted compared to an almost completely clean de-screened one.
Can someone post a pic looking down the barrel of a stock MAF to show that and maybe same person or someone else if pic handy post up a ported one or one with the aftermarket ends?
The stock MAF will flow enough air for a stock or lightly modified car. Unless your engine is highly modified (500 rwhp or more) you will gain nothing by changing your MAF or adding something to change the flow.

Over the years, I've seen lots of members stating that they've had problems with MAF replacement. I don't recall seeing many members claiming significant gains with this install on slightly modified LS1 engines. I've also seen lots of debate about the merits of de-screening the MAF.
