So I installed headers and when I did we broke the collant temp sensor thats on the head (driver's side).
We installed a new one and now I get a coolant temp reading when I turn the car on to accessory (usually it'll say like 85 or 93 or close to whatever the tempature is outside - assuming the coolant is at an ambient temp after car has been sitting for a day) but when I start the motor the analog gauge pegs MAX hot and the DIC gauge reads "xxx" for the temp.
Any reason it would do this?
I check the connection on the plug and it works fine... There are no blown fuses, so I assume I got a faulty sensor? what else could it be?

You can do one of two things to reset the condition. Clear everything out of the DIC, or disconnect the battery cable for a minute, and reconnect.
