I just went to reprogram my tire sensors because the left rear was out. Guess what? The Lft Frt sensor was on the Rt Frt wheel. The Rt. Frt sensor was the Rt Rear wheel. The Rt Rear sensor was the Lft Rear wheel The Lft Rear sensor was the Frt. Lft wheel. How this mix up occured I have no idea. The tires and rims were stock from the dealer. By the way still can't program one of the sensors. Is there an aftermarket one or must I buy from GM?
Re: check your tire sensors -- wrong locations (mike k)
order it from gm, i hear Ken Fichtner has best price, then program them following the right sequence, frt/l, frt/r,rear/r and rear/l, wait till the horn beeps before moving to the next one.
Re: check your tire sensors -- wrong locations (mike k)
I have the same problem with the sensors being wrong, since I changed my wheels to the mallets. It's weird thought cause I made sure the shop changed wheel by wheel to make sure they put them on the right way  So I dont know what the hell happened. I aslo get a reading of 33lbs of pressure when the tires are only 30lbs? I used diff hand guages and I always get 30lbs. What's up with that?
Re: check your tire sensors -- wrong locations (Moundir)
My sensors will sometimes be off by about 2 lbs per tire. This system was one that I could have done without. Give me the old minispare, a small jack, etc., and I would be happy. Eights years later and the system is still not perfected.
Re: check your tire sensors -- wrong locations (mike k)
When you change your wheels you MUST reprogram each wheel sensor. Also, you MUST program them in this order only or they will read from the wrong position.... 1st to program -- LEFT FRONT
2nd -- RIGHT FRONT
3rd -- RIGHT REAR
4th -- LEFT REAR
You have to hear the horn blow to confirm that the sensor has been programmed. If the horn does NOT blow, DO NOT proceed to the next sensor or your order will be messed up.......
Did ya get all that ?? :D
Re: check your tire sensors -- wrong locations (mike k)
When I changed my wheels, I reprogrammed my wheels sensors.
I used an extra Sub woofer magnet I had. Just set it next to the valve stem and reprogrammed each wheel. Less than 4 minutes total.
No problems.
