My 02 Z06 has stock shocks on it as of now. 50k miles on the car. It is lowered almost to the max in the rear but it still rides great. Not really bouncy at all. I just purchased some 18x12 ccw classics with 335s on the rear. I am now worried. I know they stick out some, i don't want to crack the fender if i bottom out. Do these cars have bumpstops on the current shocks? Is there anyone who sells them? If not is there a stiffer shock that should do well?
If i can go the bumpstop route that's great. I know i will limiting suspension travel with a bumpstop which is not the best way to go but i would rather not damage the car from bottoming out of the fenders.
From my experience you will not hit your fenders. The shock has bump stops. I have never hit my fenders with 335/35/17 tires with stock Z06 shocks. Not sure what height your tires are. Mine are 25.5" When I ran taller ones, I still did not hit. But those tires were 315/35/18's. You should be fine.
