Default Abs traction control

I have performed all the checks that everyone has posted. I have checked resistance at the right front wheel sensor and it is correct, I have checked all the fuses, I removed EBCM and sent it to Module Masters, the repair report stated that they repaired sevral cold solder joints. I also checked the grounds and the pins in the RF wheel sensor, everything appears normal, I just cant get the code 1233 HC to go away. If anyone has anymore ideas I would welcome them. Also I took the car to the dealer and they scanned it and said it was the EBCM.

Worst case scenario: replace EBCM. The best price I can find right now is $550.00 for part # 12216561 on eBay (item # 140329062332) and the auction ends tomorrow at approx. 18:00 PDT.

Also remember that there is an "intermediate" cable/wire harness that runs between the actual wheel speed sensor plug and the connector on the frame........GM part #12163714 "Wheel speed sensor wiring harness extension" on your 2001. Have you checked yours closely to make sure that the connectors are clean, debris free and that the pins are straight and not deformed?

BTW, be aware that most of the connectors used on the car require that you do NOT stick a DVOM probe into them when checking for continuity/voltages, etc. The size of the probes on the standard DVOM WILL deform the contacts (especially the female contacts) resulting in poor/intermittent connection(s). Personally I use a small or medium sized paper clip on many occasions and make sure that it just slides in snugly and not too tight. I then use alligator clip leads to the DVOM.

Another thing you need to consider is the failure code indicates the following three things: The sensor circuit is shorted to ground, shorted to voltage or it is open. Checking for resistance only verifies whether the circuit is open or not. You need to check both sides of the sensor wiring for shorts to ground or voltage. These conditions could exist in the harness or maybe there is a ground at the wheel.

Do you have a stainless steel brake line that shorted to ground at the right front wheel? The stock brake lines are open and correct stainless lines are open (no continuity from the brake line connection on the caliper to the frame) as well but that doesn't mean they couldn't fail.
