Ok, I took out the stock shifter. Found the rubber you talked about that makes the shifts rubbery. It is between the black upper steel shaft and the yellow lower shaft. But how do you separate the them???
I know some of you guys had drilled holes and put rolled pins on it. And soem of you had removed the rubber completely and welded the upper and lower together. I want to remove the rubber completely, can some one tell me what to do?
Re: How do you separate the shifter? (benelliwang)
I just took a chop saw and cut it off right below the rubber. Got a 9/16 fine bolt and welded it on in it's place. Works perfect. I shortened it a bunch too.

Andy, so you cut the lower yellow part, right below the rubber? Then take out the rubber piece from inside the upper part and welded the two together?
By the way, I love your exhaust mod. Best bang or the bucks! When are you gonna comeout with your shifter mod so I don't have to do this myself???
