Cruise disengages uphill

If it's a 6spd in 6th going up the hill the engine is probably lugging too much and going outside of the cruise control parameters. You might be a little low on engine power making this worse also. Maybe need a tune up with air filter?

No matter what gear you are in the cruise should stay active until the car's speed drops below the cruise control's minimum speed. Things that can deactivate cruise control are activation of traction control, active handling or an error in the car's fly by wire throttle control electronics. You should start by checking for codes using the DIC and then report back any codes you find in this thread. If there are codes there probably is somebody who can provide some guidance.
