AIR pump question

I have headers installed and the air pump hose is disconnected that ran to the manifold. The pump still come on while the cars is running and make a loud sucking noise but is not hooked up. Do i still need this pump running?? if not, how do I get it too cut off or does it have an additional function other than running into the stock manifold?? Do I remove a fuse?? thanks,

You can disconnect it from the power source but you will probably throw some codes unless you get it "tuned" out by your tuner.

FYI It's an annoyance code and will not affect how the engine operates, you can just hit reset everytime until you get it tuned out.

Go ahead and disconnect the power wire to the AIR pump for now.

FYI, here is a screen shot of HP Tuner where you can shut off the AIR pump by raising the minimum engine coolant temperature for the pump to run. Having your own copy of HP Tuner makes it easy.
