My vette was feeling really sluggish last week, so I popped the hood and found the intake tube partly off of the manifold. I reinstalled it but the sluggishness was still there. Knowing my car could use a tune-up anyways, I decided to replace the plugs. They were nasty black and needed to go. Put everything back together and the car ran Great...... for about one day. Now the problem comes and goes with every drive. I moved to SoCal in the desert where temps were 110 coming here. She had her moments running good and bad, but towards the end of my trip, I was missing below 2500 RPMs. I took her out today and she ran normal. Ideas?
You probably should clean the maf sensor and check the pcv valve to intake connection for possible holes in the line. Plugs black is not common as far as I've heard, rather usually light being a lean condition. Air filters clean?
Cleaned the filter 2 days ago. Wasnt too bad. What should I use to clean the sensor? Also, the car tends to run a little rich, however the mechanic at Rick Stark Corvette said that it was normal for a car modified like mine. I'll go outside and check out the PCV valve right after american idol is over. Could it be injectors?
No leaks in that hose, however, Number 7 wire just clicked once when I pushed it at the coil. Checked the others and they were all snug. I just read that it has to click twice. I wont know if it fixed it till tomorrow (trying not to **** off new neighbors at 2140), but in everyone's experience, could that have cause my intermittent sluggishness?

Reason: typo
You can use electrical cleaner spray to spray out the MAF. I've even use brake parts cleaner which seems to do just fine as well. Another place to look for an issue but usually doesn't cause things to run rich is the ground connections on the rear of the driver side heads. Lastly, you may need to replace the O2 sensors. Pull your codes.

I used brake cleaner after REMOVING the MAF. DON'T TOUCH the wires either. Let everything dry and put it back. I also cleaned the throttle body with some carb cleaner. In my case the hesitation was at 50 or 60 MPH with light acceleration. After doing the MAF and TB it worked for a week then came back. New Iridium plugs and red wires (for me not the C5 as the black ones were just fine) and she really moves. Been ok now for 2 years. BIGHANK
