Default Slow To Start

I just bought my car a month ago. its a 99 c5 with 82k miles on it. it started to take a little longer than usual to start. and then i had the service column lock issue. got the clb and it didnt fix it. i had the fuel cut off raised to 255mph. so i still get the code. my car was still taking longer to start the longer it sat in the heat. so i bought a red top optima. and i still have the same problem, so what the hell. and i just got a charge system failure code this afternoon. so could this be my alternator? i did some research on the code and it usually happens to people with older batteries. so i dont know whats going on.

Have your battery load tested. Also check the connections on the positve and negative sides for corrosion.

It sounds like a connection problem. This thread has information that will help you find the problem.

I'm not sure if it's in there, so also look at the connection at both ends of both of the battery cables. It could be an issue on the end opposite the battery where they attach to the car.

Also check the battery cable to starter connection. Don't forget that its electrically hot down there.

Same hard start, with other "ghost problems". Took a look at the various battery cable connections and sure enough some were "suspect" No obvious corrosion, but upon close inspection a couple of loose connections.

Fixed it so far.
