im just asking ....i dont know what it supposed to be.....im using efi live to check my tune and its set to allow....ive been messing with way to much stuff and i think i changed that table
guys table d2801 ...what do you think??? allow lockup during upshifts or not....trans builders say dont do it
I like messing with things! and i don't have EFI live. I did this about a year ago and i learned my lesson.
I was curious like you and i decided to analyze how the circuitry works. I found the wire that when grounded would cause the lock up to engage no matter what the PCM tried to do. You will get a TCC stuck on code from your PCM. See the way it works is the TCC solenoid always recieves 12v positive and when the pcm feels the TCC should engage it provides the negative and it engages.
It was really fun driving around with it engaged the car felt just like a manual car no slippage in the torque converter. Although you had to disengage it when you come to a complete stop if not the car will turn off. I redlined the car with the TCC on and the traction off in 1st and when it slammed second not only did i almost loose complete control of the car, it got a mega wack down the drivetrain. Nothing broke and i drove it like that for a while.
the 3rd gear Zpack gave out after a year on my A4 and I had it rebuilt and left the TCC under normal operation.
It was a fun little gadjet to play with, that can cause tranny failure.
