I am having fuel pump issues, and before I replaced the pump I was going to test a few things. I have a 99 corvette (supercharged and boost a pump / racetronix pump). I took a test light to the 4 wire harness plugging into the pump (my service manual says it is a 12162187). I checked the 4 wires for power, only one had power. The one that says ground did not, the one that said sensor ground did not and the one that said fuel pump motor feed did not. The one that said 5 volt reference had power when the key was turned to "on", but not when it was off. My assumption is that the fuel pump motor feed should have power? is there a main fuse or something?
Any help would be great.
yes I believe they are stock lines. so to check it correctly I would need to check voltage at the "fuel pump motor feed" at the same time the key is turned to the "on" position?
The two outer wires are for the pump motor, hot and ground. The two innder wires are for the level sensor: one hot and one signal return. If you want a diagram, i have one and will post later on...
ok so I found the culprit. There was no power to the pump but when I pulled back part of the harness I saw where the boost a pump comes into the system, when I disconnected the boost a pump it fired right up.
