My son's '04's drivers side mirror is "de-laminating"? I think it's due to being hooked up to the inside mirror that self dims. How does one go about fixing that problem? Buy a whole new ***'y or can you just replace the mirror?

You can replace just the mirror, just have to be careful when installing new mirror - wear heavy gloves as there is always a chance of the glass my break when applying the pressure needed to re-attach to pivot, motor pegs and sensor pegs.

My mirror is doing this as well. It is actually the fluid inside it that is causing the problem. Becareful if you remove it or replace it, the fluid inside the mirror will remove paint if it makes contact with it. I would suggest having GM replace it. Just the glass is a little over $300. Thats why I still have the problem.
