Default Definition Please

I read the term, "Sidestepping the Clutch".
What is this, and how does it differ from Powershifting/Speedshifting/Regular Shifting...........
I do not understand the lingo.........??

To me, it has meant taking your foot off the clutch as fast as possible.

Side stepping the clutch is to slide your foot off the clutch peddel to the side, while pushed to the floor. This lets the spring on the clutch fly back to engage the clutch. My personal opinion, isn't one good thing that comes from side stepping the clutch, unless you needed a reason to replace driveline components.
Power shifting: Using the clutch to shift, doing so a quickly as possible, with the throttle on. This way the engine revs higher during the shift. However, if you miss, or are slow and don't have a rev limiter you can do serious engine damage by over reving the engine. It is a technique used by drag racers for a little quicker times.
Clutchless shifting: Backing off the throttle slightly to pull the transmission out of gear then changing the engine rpm's (higher or lower depending on what gear you want) and slipping the transmission into its new gear when the rpm's match. It is fun to run around without the clutch, but it isn't any faster.
