Default Mast motorsports ls7 440 build

Mast Motorsports is doing the LS7 stroker for me. Shortblock is complete, now for the top end. That is one hell of a nice facility.
Superflow 902 engine dyno. Nice clean set up w/ state of the art goodies everywhere. The staff was great as well. Answered any questions and Horace showed me around the facility. Saw an LS9 on the stand up there too. ! Wouldn't mind droppin that into the c5 Build should be complete by end of August.

11.5 :1 comp. Looking like a 244/260@.50 661 114 at this point , not in stone yet on cam selection.

So, the LS7 @ 440 cubic inches is a stroker? I saw u typed that on your post. Then its the stock bore and a longer stroke? I would ve bet my left one that the 440 was the stock stroke with a slightly larger bore.(because of the "only" 13 cubic inch increase)

Better get your local anesthetic ready sarge.
The left one is done. Stock bore w/ a 4.100 stroke crank . Technically the ci is a 438. So yes its stroked.

Any reason for not leaving the stock 4.00" stroke and just boring the cylinders a bit? Just curious.

Sounds like some nice work you have going on there.

Thats the way the builder chose to do the shortblock, seemed to be very cost effective.LME does the same thing , soe does Golen, SDPC. etc.
Some engine builders reccommend a 4.000 in stroke for sleeve length integrity.

Different strokes for different folks !
Thanks ...

Hey, what's .100" among friends, right?

I'm not that familiar with MAST. Keep us posted on your work-in-progress.

Btw, is that a dry sump setup you're going with?

no.....wet sump, ls6 pan, w/ custom Mast windage tray.
Sorry..........no links to non-supporting vendors
Look at their torture test video .....towards the bottom of their web page on the right ......"more videos" , you will find it , pretty cool.

Default heads are done..

cnc ported LS7 heads are done, bolted on. Now for the other misc. bolt ons to complete the build . Soon as I can get the rest of the cabbage together for the Katech valve covers and coil kit, and the rest of the groceries, they will put it on the Superflow 902 and give her a go.

Few more weeks.
Cant wait.

Somewhere in the 640/600 range. May put down 550/540. I will get a sheet from Mast whenever they dyno the engine.

Default Engine is complete & Dyno'd !

665.4 and 560 ft lbs. Very happy with the results. I thought I would see more torque. Cant post the graph right now. The C5 will fly. Now for the new clutch & exhaust system. Mast Motorsports ran it in on their Superflow and its ready to ship. I hope to see around 570-580 rear wheel with it dyno tuned. Compression is 11.2:1, Mast ls7 12 degree cnc'd heads, cam 242/260 650/680
114 lsa. Stock LS7 intake. Didnt want to get nuts with the cam. Could have went larger for more power, but this will work for me. I do have a two peice timing cover for future changes.

Its been a long time coming, but that c5 is going to scream Tom. Nice preliminary numbers. How long before the motor is installed and what kind of chassis dyno does MAST Motorsports use ? DJ or Mustang ?

Default dyno

Mast just built the motor & ran it in on their Superflow. Now I have to get the clutch, and full exhaust ...more money install the package and on to LMR for the dyno tune. I think LMR uses a Dynojet.
We are starving slow over here at the store , workload is as slow as Ive seen it . So the cash is not rolling in lately , but it sure is rolling out. Keep you posted on the rest. With the holidays coming , it looks like it will be late January.
