HUD install air bag code problem
A friend of mine just installed HUD and is having a code problem as his email states below, thanks in advance for any advice.
I took the car out for the first time with the HUD and everything seems to be working. When I went to clear the codes from having the battery and different things unplugged, I got a ‘SDM – No Comms’ which has something to do with the air bag system. All the other codes clear fine, but this won’t go away (no check engine light or other faults). The air bag light on the dash blinks 7 times as it’s supposed to. I was wondering if you had anything similar or know what the problem might be?

Recent HUD Install
I just installed a HUD system. It's odd that you are getting that code. When the dash was removed, was there any disturbance to his on/off switch for the passenger side airbag? I'd check that first and also the ground/connections. You could run a bypass around the switch to see if that removes the code. The only other thing I can see is if the cluster was removed and a not so good connection is at the pin connection. Did he replace the cluster?
