Engine Power lost under load
Need help! Engine looses power under load. During heavy accelerating in 5th or six gear the engine seems to loose power and the car shakes and shutters. At the time this occures a sound simular to a spark knock can be heard. When I back off the accelerater the car is fine. The problem is getting worse. It is now beginning to show up in 3rd and 4th gear. However, there is no shortage of power when taking off from a dead start in first gear! Anyone have any ideas?
1994 LT1 6 speed trans with 31,000 miles.

yellc4, have you're clutch checked......sounds like it may be giving up the ghost........
It will show up in the higher gears first......then as it gets worse, it goes down the ratio's.......... :rolleyes:
