Well it would seem i have some sort of electrical problem with my heat in my '99. After a drive taking my buddy to the airport in which it was kinda warm out ... i turned on the ac and my side worked fine but his was blazing hot. I have the dual climate control and each side has a lil **** and I'm assuming that is the problem. If it is ... i haven't been able to find a part for it and I'm hoping i don't have to replace that whole cluster. I really am somewhat electrically retarded at the moment but if i have to i can do me some learning. Just curious if anyone has had a similar problem? Any tips or advice or pointing in a possble right direction would be great. Thanks.
Hello, Your symptom usually indicates either the actuators out of calibration, a bad control head,or a faulty actuator. The first thing to try is to recalibrate the ac temp actuators. See Below
======================================== =============
Re-Calibrating Actuators
Use the following steps to perform the recalibration.
1,set driver temp to 65,set pass side to straight up 12 oclock
2, Clear the dic codes
3, Turn OFF the ignition.
4, Remove fuse # 27 in the pass side footwell fusebox,
Leave it out for at least 60 seconds, more is better.
Important
The module memory will not clear if the battery positive voltage circuit fuse is installed in less than 60 seconds.
5,Then reinstall the fuse and listen for the actuators under the dash to go through their full range of motions.
If you hear them doing that, the recal was probably sucessful, and the ac should perform as it should. If it was not sucessfulo after a few tries, then it is either a bad actuator on the pass side, or a bad control head, it is usually the actuator. There are many threads on replacing the actuator and control head.
Good Luck.
