Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask is because I'm interested i a 03 with a supercharger and thought it was wrong info about the rear end (a 2:73)..so if I end up getting it I'd change the rear end to at lease a 3:15...
GU2 is fantastic for freeway flying! I had a GU2 in my first Trans Am (It was an auto obviously) but I got nearly 400 miles to the tank going REALLY fast on the 15 to Vegas... Good times.
Do you know for certain that this car has the stock rear end?? Have you talked to the owner? I figure that if someone has spent the money on a Supercharger, they probably have done other mods, like having the tranny rebuilt to a Level IV, different rear end gearing etc.. If you look at the rear end diff, you will see a small aluminum tag that says GETRAG on it, with the gear ratio on it too.. I would not count on what the glove box option sheet says

Oh yes I'm familiar with the different diffs. I had all three in my '97. Not much different in the 3:15 and 3:42. With the setup on this car you would at lease want a 3:15...

You are thinking like I am. The car is at sales place and the staff there doesn't know much about the mods on the car. As you say the car will have to be put on a lift to see what is on the rear end.
