I was on a trip back to Indiana to visit my family over the last week. I made a stop for the night along the trip, and on the way to grab some food, noticed some cracking/popping sounds coming from what seemed like my glass top. Ever since, it's been cracking/popping. I noticed today that there are a lot of micro-cracks in the top.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever had this happen, or seen this happen? Is it just possibly the top failing, or is it maybe a suspension component failing causing undue stress on the top perhaps?
Never have had a flying roof or anything like that btw.
I had my orginal top on my 93 crack un expectedly then, I bought a new repo and it cracked down the middle as well after a 1 1/2 years. I noticed in the hatch that you had to struggle to get the top to latch down. I re adjusted the brackets in the hatch so hopefully this will fix the situation. I think that when I would put it in the hatch it was under alot of stress and then would crack over time.
