Shift indicator problem.
Here is one for ya. I have an automatic transmission and just noticed today that the orange indicator does not correspond with that position the stick is in. It is stuck in 1 even if I have it in drive, reverse, neutral etc., it doesn’t move. Is there a way to fix this?

You probably will have to pull the shifter boot out and remove the shifter to see if anything is broken or disconnected in the shifter mechanism. Check the service manual for floor shift removal and floor shift boot removal. If you don't have a SM I can put together a Word file that has the instructions along with diagrams but you will be on your own trying to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. GM probably just replaced the floor shifter if this problem occurred. Send me a PM if you want the Word file.
