If youre talking about our Big NA cam, it's not that big.

My Z was the test mule for this grind about 3 years ago... I still love it. The car put down 504/425 to the tire on our old dyno jet with TFS Heads, Fast 90/90 and stock 3.42s . I have a bunch of 10 second passs through the stock tranny and rear and a bunch days on the road course. Driveability is great...I drive it to the shop whenever the weather is decent - about 85miles round trip.

This vid is from wen I first got it...before I was working at the shop... still similing.

ECS installed this same cam setup in my car about a year ago. It is really not a big cam but more in the medium range, upper 230s duration, .600+ lift with 113LSA. I am very happy with it but it did take some time and fine tuning after the install to get the car running to my satisfaction with good daily drivability. I am running TF 215 heads and a FAST90/90 setup with Callaway Honker, AR LTs, and GHL Bullets. The car sounds bad a$$ and drivability is good. My car puts down 458RWHP and 405RWTQ. This is not my daily driver. The car pulls like a freight train at anything over 3K RPM.

Again, drivability should be your biggest concern with a medium to big cam and thus it really depends on how good the tune is. You may have to adjust your driving style slightly with any cam. Your not going to be able to lug your car around town in high gear at 1,000 - 1,500 RPM without some slight surging and bucking. You just have to expect that and adjust your driving style accordingly. Having your tuner spend the time necessary to get things dialed in is the key. This may take multiple tuning sessions. If you are expecting your car to come out of this and drive like a stock setup, you will be disappointed. Go into this with your eyes wide open. Do your research and have someone take you for a ride in a cammed car if you have never driven in one, then make your decision. All in all, I am very happy with the results I got from ECS and this cam. Chris and Doug are good guys and will take care of you. Good luck with it.

Thanks, I am really looking forward to this install. I know some of the stuff with cams; I have driven a few cammed cars on a limited basis. I am just trying to see what the guys that have it have to say.

Mixed loop driving and being sensible about it, I average about 16 MPG. If I am on the highway and on a long trip with a lot of flat road and six gear using cruise control at about 70 - 75 mph, I have averaged about 26 MPG over a tank of gas. I have seen the DIC display 28.5 - 30 MPG on occasion for short periods, but you have to expect your mileage to drop a bit when you are making significantly more power. I know others out there will claim higher MPG, but that was not the case with my setup.

What about the intake, do I need a FAST or will one of the other intakes do just as well for a fraction of the cost? Which ones should I stay away from?

Mike's car ws the test mule, but its actually the George Z cam. great drivability. With stock untouched heads, stock rear, that cam only package with all the goodies got me to 430rwhp.

The cam is actually a little under 600, but either way, it's still very driveable.

As far as intakes, the FAST is a nice addition, but this set up with LS2's and LS6's will still make plenty of power.

I had it on the roadcourse all day yesterday, and im in love with it all over again.
