I followed the instructions tonight to a tee and the front coilovers went in great. I went to torque everything down to the specs and as expected, the top nut on the shocks was just spinning. I read further and saw it said you may have to put the car on the ground to torque those down. I did just that. The drivers side went perfect and it torqued right down to the 14 ft/lbs. I then proceed to passenger side and begin and go to check my progress.... nothing, spin spinning. So I keep trying and nothing. I then attempt the electric drill unit and that had no effect either. So I proceed to jack the car back up and drop it back down, still no luck! Ugh, frusterated at this point, I attempt to take the nut off. Well no dice there either, same results, whole unit just spins! I am lost at this point as the nut is stuck there spinning both ways not tightening down or coming off! I try a last resort and hold the told compression unit hoping it will hold the shaft and it doesnt, just spins off. So I go to put it back on and it won't go in all the way due to the nut being just a TAD too high now. Now I'm freaking out that the compression unit is messed up! Ugh. So with it not going back on all the way, I attempt to hold it with the same size hex key, have no idea what else to do at this point. So I try it and nothing, its just too darn tight, either way! I have no idea why it's being this stubborn but the nut won't tighten or come off and I'm fearing that the compression unit is messed up! I really have no idea what to do, I followed the instructions to a tee and did everything I could and it's not working. I gave up on the night and plan to going at it in the morning.
Update, while typing my last I had sprayed PB Blaster on the nut before. I just went back out and put a jack under the tire and jacked it up to give it more pressure, I got the nut off!!! I then put it back on and it torqued down! Thats solved! New problem.... the compression thing won't go all the way back in now. I screw it down until its tight and it just clicks too easy and will never stop in either direction meaning the hex is most likely not in. Therefore I am stuck here. However at least my front end is driveable now... I just have no idea how the compression is set and can't change it, lol. I will start on the rears tomorrow
Jonathan, I have no idea in helping you out. I do have the printed install proceedure from Pfadt's website in front of me. One good thing is Katech is a Pfadt installer and you may give them a call @ 586 791 4120. They could probably walk you through it. Their address is 24324 Sorrentino Ct. Clinton Township. 48035. Trouble is they may be out till Mon.? I,m assuming you used the proper(black) poly collar on the top below the M10 flange nut? And not the red one. I'll be doing this same job, before to long. Good luck, be patient. Bob.
yep, just having an issue with the compression clicker on top now, I can't get it back in. Hopefully it's not messed up! Will be contacting Jordan @ PFADT tomorrow... AMAZING customer service!

The internal adjuster in the shock isn't damaged; if anything it's the external adjuster. Those can be changed with the shock on the car. It's pretty straight forward.
