Ok, it happened to me last night and I had to have my baby towed to a dealer. I have scanned the threads and here is my situation.
I got the "pull key and wait 10 seconds" and went through the routine and still got the 'service steering column" message in the DIC. I tried to force the wheel between the stops, no luck.
The previous owner of my car had the dealer perform the recall and supposedly the fix. So my question now is what is it now???
The dealer has not called me yet with a diagnosis and an estimate, which scares the s**t out me. Any advise on a cheap way to get it out the door and possibly install the CLB? Does this make sense?
Read the sticky at the top. Why do people keep posting this Column Lock stuff-this horse has been beat to DEATH 100's of times now. The answer as always the same. UNLOCK the column and install a CLB and STAY AWAY FROM THE DEALER!
