Default Leaf Spring question

Does anyone know if there is a difference between normal 98 C5 vette leaf spring and a C5 Z06? I will say having a cracked spring helps the car 60' pullin 1.4's

Yes, the Z springs have a little higher spring rate.

standard C5 spring rates:
Front- 440 Rear- 576

Z06 Spring rates:
Front- 525 Rear- 714

it would probably be better for road handling, but slightly worse for drag racing, because you would get less weight transfer.

I run C5 Z06 springs and couldn't be happier.

You got a good price, but I would not recommend upgrading only one spring. Either a Z06 or Z51 mate would be a better match than the base FE1 item.

i don't see how front spring stiffness would make any difference under acceleration - you are unloading the spring, not loading it when you are transferring weight to the back.

you will change cornering dynamics by using mis-matched setup. since you got a great deal, might be worth giving it a try and seeing if you like it - if not you could always resell the spring here and get matching front spring or a full z06 setup.
