I just put Corsa's on and noticed that the pipe that attaches to the driver's side is about 3/4" short and the passenger side is 1 1/2" too long. It would seem that my stock system might be misaligned, although I'm not sure I can see how that could be.
You adjust it by loosening the clamp on the muffler and rotating the muffler and/or pulling it back and forth with the tips. Rotation moves the tips up and down while pushing/pulling on the tips moves them in and out. Get the tips where you want them and use your free hand and knees to hold the assembly in the desired position. Loosen one and move it in this fashion through its full range of motion to see what you have to work with then put them where you want them. It took a couple of adjustments but my tips now look like twinkies. (Is there a joke in there somewhere?)
My tips aren't quite aligned (one set it a little lower than the other). Can I just loosen the mufflers like this, and straighten them out? Where are the bolts I need to loosen?
The clamps are what you loosen. Look at them and you will see that one clamp will allow for up and down movement. The other one will allow a clockwise rotation. There are two clamps per side. A little patience and a yard stick to check alignment and your pipes will look great!
