aces, before I would dump blower $$$$ into a car with 70 k on the speedo, I would do a valve job, and a re-ring, and new brearings.......
Why dump $5/$8k into something you have to tear down 2 months later......not worth the chance in my opinion :yesnod:
I had only 15k on mine and decided to go with peace of mind. With a blower you could detinate in the tuning process and blow it right there. Take the hit up front and enjoy it down the road! Good luck!!

Seems like it could blow any time any way If it detonates.
The motor has less than 2% leakdown. That's the same as a new motor.
If you've changed your oil often and you haven't ragged out the engine, you're fine. I added an S-Trim Vortech to an LT1 that had 45,000 miles, and ran it for two years, then sold it to a guy in Houston who got another year out of it...before the crash. If you do not get greedy for that additional 20 horsepower that you cannot reliably get, you'll be okay. Mr. Detonation is not our friend! When there's any question, run less boost, less timing, and less revs.
Though it's not an LS1 or even a Chevy, I put a centrifugal s/c on my 5.0 liter mustang when it had 100,000 on the motor and 20,000 miles on the heads, and ran it for 2 years....now it has a twin turbo setup, making 510 ft lbs at the wheels on 10 psi, with 135,000 on the shortblock (with factory forged pistons).
Of course, I sweated the details of a proper fuel/ignition system, and a conservative tune. That is the key to longevity, not mileage.
70k really isn't to bad for an LS1 motor. If you were getting close to 100k I'd suggest freshening things up a little. At that point you midas well just rebuild for some big boost numbers as Matt suggested. If motor has been taken care of and has strong compression I don't see any problem with it. I have guys with over 50,000 supercharged miles on their LS1 and they are still going strong.
IAdvise you to blow it! What was wrong with that? You really are far to sensitive. Please work with your therapist on this. I really think you should add the blower!
