Default Pillar pod lights.......

When they installed my pillar pod with boost & fuel pressure gauges, I am not sure how they powered the gauge lights.

The gauges are very bright at night and don't dim with the dash lights.

Can I just put a different bulb in there or should I connect them with a source attached to the instrument cluster dim switch?

Which should I do....... and can you tell me where to go for the power source or different bulb?

I'm curious how everyone else deals with this...............

Thanks in advance

If I remember correctly from what I read a while back you cant hook up gauges off of the dimmer. I dont remember why exactly but thats what everyone has been saying. Kinda sucks. Maybe you could add a resistor in line with the gauge lights.

Hmmmmmm.. interesting, thanks for the info

Resistor is a possibility.

Is there anyone who solved this care to share their fix..?

You can definitely use a current limiting resistor in series with the light to dim it, even if its a LED. What you could do is get a variable resistor (potentiometer) from radio shack and temporarily wire it in series with the light. Drive and fiddle until you like the light level, then measure the resistance with an ohm meter, and solder the proper resistor into place.

Sounds like this will be the easiest solution...... Thanks
