Default trans line help needed

yea i guess i have yet another problem i need fixed which is alot easier of a fix than the squealing under my hood i have a aftermarket tranny cooler on my car and what i did was use feul line running from the cooler to the metal trans line. i did this about a month or so ago and today being the 2nd time since adding this the rubber feul line cracked and broke shooting trans fluid eveywhere so what im wanting to know is would braided line fix that problem of the line cracking or do i need to make metal line and fittings to run from the cooler to the line that was tied in at the metal trans lines?

I take it the hose you used is just regular fuel line, probably says right on it "not for fuel injection" ?

If it's just regular fuel line, then it will not hold up for long. Fuel line specifically rated for fuel injection(stamped right on the hose) is much more robust, and reinforced.

Gates, Goodyear, etc. make transmission oil cooler hose. It's designed specifically for the purpose, and has a much higher working pressure/burst rating.

Other considerations should be: proximity to high temp i.e. exhaust, not exceeding the bend radius, and properly sleeving the hose to prevent chaffing.

You certainly can, but just using the correct hose for the application will suffice.

If you get the special rubber fuel line made specifically for fuel injection you will be fine. They have a very high burst rating.

The fuel injection hose is heavily reinforced. I tried regular fuel line on the transmission cooler lines on my 1970 Chevelle some 35+ years ago – ruptured the same day.

Used the high-pressure fuel injection rubber line on my 74 Corvette’s radiator style trans cooler – race prepped Turbo 400. Those lines are about 15-years old with 150,000 miles on them and they are still on the car. Come to think of it I should change those rubber lines with new.

Make sure that the line is insulated from rubbing on any surface (from engine vibration).

You can get fuel injection hose at a good parts store or speed shop. Make sure it says it right on the hose, if it is not stamped on the hose, don't buy it. Also, make sure you buy clamps specifically for fuel injection hose. These clamps are solid, as opposed to the gates type clamps for radiator hose.

i got the correct hose and its on the car and also found a better way to add trans fluid at the same time i have the amsoil pump and pumped a quart of tranny fluid thru the hose that i put on to replace the old hose saved me from jacking the whole car up and pumping it directly into the trans
