The 2002 Z06 is overheating at the road course track. I can do about three 3 mile laps at speed before the engine coolant reaches 260-300 degrees. I replaced the coolant tank, checked for leaks, didn't find any, pulled the thermostat out completely, but it's still happening.
It's hot out here, truly. Air temp in the shade is 104, the track is 120+. It may be that it's just hot... but I have another corvette running with me that's doing well with 220 water temps. The car is losing a gallon of water per session.
Have you upgraded to DeWitts or others? Also, you must make sure there is no trash in condensor or rad or between them. As hard as it is to do, it really helps to hit it with some air. You should make sure shroud is sealed so that all air coming in has to go thru rads. HTH. Good luck.
Well, ran the car twice more today, and it overheated both times. However, that was enough to post a time, so it did the job.
I'm going to go get a pressure tester this week and hook it up to see if it's leaking. I'll also check between the radiator and condenser, after I pull the condenser out along with the rest of the AC system. No place for that in a race car.

I have no idea about engines . but my C5 was overheating and it turned out, I needed a new water pump, maybe see if your water pumps is broken ... because that is an essential part of the cooling process, I am told.
