Shift **** clip, Automatic
Anybody have any idea on how to re-istall the shift **** clip for an automatic. I replaced my shift boot and I cannot get the clip to install flush, like the factory. Any help would be greatly appreiciated. It is driving me nuts.
How far out is it? I recently had to replace the bulb under the shift indicator and the clip went in fairly easy. I was able to push it in with my fingers and then just gave it tap or two with the handle of a screw driver to seat it all the way.
Try pulling it out a flipping it 180 degrees. I can't recall for sure but I thought the tips of the clip had a slight bend in them to put some pressure on the clip and hold the **** tight - if it is difficult to get it in the way you are doing now, flip it and try again. I may have had a hard time the first attempt and then flipped it and it went right in.

It is about 1/16 of an inch exposed. Thanks for the info and I will let you know what happens.
