Default Okie.. now we're getting somewhere.

Thanks for the answers this morning on NOS. I won't. :)

Now, the next obvious question for a dummy like me to ask is:

Which is the best supercharger? ATI Pro or other? By "best", I mean what can give me an appreciable boost in HP for a car that sometimes get 200 miles a day put on it. I'm seeing numbers around here like 450, 500 and WAY over 500 hp and it's hard to believe that shoving some air down the LS1's engine will create kind of boost. I have a supercharged (3800) Riviera and you CAN tell that it's supercharged... but getting nearly 200 extra HP with the blower on an LS1 seems like it's a much to ask. Am I missing sumthin? Thanks.
Y'all have a great (safe) weekend!

You will no doubt get varied opinions on this topic. No one with a C5 can really advise on the long term effects of the ATI Procharger as the kit is new to the Vette. The F body guys seem to be doing well with them. I have ridden in one of the forum members cars equiped with the Procharger and I was impressed with the added power and driveability. In fact my Procharger should be being shipped as we speak and should be installed sometime in the next week or so.

The miles that you put on your car seems to be alot. But in many cases, dependability lies in the way you treat your equipment IMO. I don't think you are mising anything. These cars are making alot of power!

Gunny (are you in the Corps?);
forced induction is an awesome thing. it is not hard at all to yield 200+ additional hp from a centrifugal blower. you are not so much limited by the blower, but more from the rest of the motor ancillary supporting systems. you can force gobs and gobs of air into a motor rather easily. but, you have to have the fuel and timing to properly and safely utilize the air. this gets somewhat (not terribly) complicated and very expensive. but the end result can be very streetable for even a daily driver such as yours. also, the motor itself must be built with robust parts (forged pistons, rods, crank) and have a proper flowing head and cam combo to make huge boost work right. this would be the biggest expense, of course. there are a couple centri. blowers going around that have been a hot topic lately that seem to be working out. the latest threads have centered around the ATI setup. for ~$6k you get all the hardware, bigger injectors and programming. this will put an additional 100hp to the rear wheels. not bad at all and will work fine with stock internals. Eikeland is the Beta vehicle for the latest install. search his threads. i personnally have my eye on a Roots-type blower by MAgnuson. i am keeping my eye on it and all related posts. good luck with your decision!!
