Default Removing stock exhaust

Is it possible to remove the stock Z06 exhaust without a lift? I want to replace my stock system with PRT's and I'm wondering if anyone has been able to remove their stock exhausts safely with a lift (and of course, without cutting the pipes!). Thanks. :flag

It can be done but the rear of the car has to be very high. I really dont recommend it. Go to a local lift and they will be off in 15 min without compromising your safety.. :seeya

Use a lift...........they are very easy to take off 4 bolts each. If I remeber correctly.

You can see pics here on my XR-1 install...........

I took my stock exhaust off yesterday, and I don't think it can be done without a lift and without cutting the stock pipes. I didn't use a lift, just raised the car on blocks. My car was at the limit of my jack and it still needed to go higher in order to get the stock system off in 1 piece. I figured this would be the case, so I was prepared to cut the stock system into 2 pieces, and that's what I did. Your Z06 exhaust is worth more, so you probably won't want to cut it apart. Trying to get your car high enough without a lift would be dangerous and not worth the risk.

Yes it is possible, but as someone else stated :D:D .... (I did it to mine, btw) - don't risk it. The car has to be VERY high up!

I did mine as well and at one point I couldn't twist the pipes in one direction with the jack stands in place and so I had the car just supported by the jack! :nono:

It was dangerous and wouldn't do it again. Take it to a place with a lift.
